Network Administrator

The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), a nonprofit organization with offices in New York, Israel, Germany and Austria, secures material compensation for Holocaust survivors around the world. Founded in 1951 by representatives of 23 major international Jewish organizations, the Claims Conference negotiates for and disburses funds to individual survivors and organizations and seeks the return of Jewish property stolen during the Holocaust. As a result of negotiations with the Claims Conference since 1952, the German government has paid more than $95 billion in indemnification to individuals for suffering and losses resulting from persecution by the Nazis. In 2025, the Claims Conference distributed approximately $530 million in compensation for survivors globally and $960 million for survivors’ welfare needs such as home care, medicine and food.

The Claims Conference is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This individual will oversee network security, troubleshoot network issues, and lead projects to improve network environment. The ideal candidate is organized, passionate about staying up to date on IT best practices and can work in a team environment.

Note: this is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrating, maintaining and provisioning resources for global windows domain, core-business servers and appliances;
  • Acting as lead administrator for global email systems, network security and intrusion prevention systems and Backup systems;
  • Supporting local IT Office System Administrators;
  • Auditing all offices to ensure compliance with operational policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Conducting/coordinating complex troubleshooting activities;
  • Assembling of equipment and network performance reports and monitoring for user utilization levels;
  • Assessing and recommending maintenance and/or hard/software solutions to maximize business user and operational effectiveness;
  • Designing solutions to eliminate moderately complex technical and business problems;
  • Maintaining open and collaborative relationship with client management on ongoing project and maintenance work;
  • Monitoring and providing technical training to team members;
  • Assisting junior staff with diagnosis and resolution;
  • Contributing to the development of future resource planning and design;
  • Providing second-level support to Client Services, end users, developers, and operations staff;
  • Researching complex problems and their resolutions;
  • Working with all levels of vendor organizations on incident, problem, and service management and deliverables;
  • Performing root-cause-analysis of equipment, system and process failures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science related discipline or equivalent IT experience;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • CCNA Certifications required;
  • MCSE Certifications preferred;
  • Self-motivated and strong capability to learn new concepts and systems;
  • Advance understanding of Windows Server OS 2019, AD and GPO;
  • Advance understanding of Windows Server 2012, 2017, 2019 (and greater), Active Directory, Group Policy Objects;
  • Advance understanding of Office 365 and Azure;
  • Advance understanding of AWS Cloud computing environment;
  • Advance understanding of VPC,VPN and VDI;
  • Understanding of Cloud Storage/NAS (i.e. S3, Synology, OneDrive, drobox etc.)

The Claims Conference offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our target salary range for Network Administrator in the New York City market is $105,000-$110,000. This salary range represents Claims Conference’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
