Grants Project Manager

Project Manager

The Claims Conference is looking for a dynamic Project Manager to join the Allocations team in our New York office. We are looking for a diligent, detail-oriented and proactive team player who can develop strong internal and external relationships/partnerships who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Note: this is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days in the office.

Headquartered in New York with additional offices in Israel and Germany, the Claims Conference is a global, non-profit organization committed to providing a small measure of justice to Holocaust Survivors. Since our founding in 1951, the Claims Conference has secured more than $90 billion from the German government in indemnification for Survivors. In 2023, the Claims Conference distributed approximately $625 million in direct compensation to over 260,000 survivors in 83 countries and allocated approximately $750 million in grants to over 300 social service agencies worldwide that provide vital services for Holocaust survivors, such as home care, food, and medicine. Our Research, Education, and Documentation (RED) funds contribute toward global efforts to educate the public and preserve the memory of the Holocaust through teacher training programs, exhibitions, and films such as Son of Saul, an Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film. At the Claims Conference, we honor history while making history.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Projects as set forth by Director of Allocations, Director of Social Welfare Allocations, Deputy Director of RED, or Program Managers;
  • Managing department-wide and cross-departmental projects both internally and externally with financial, consulting, legal and technological partners;
  • Leading rollout and implementation of new technology for the department for internal stakeholders and Grantees
  • Spearheading proactive projects including initiation, research and design for RED division of Allocations Department;
  • Manage data gathering initiatives both internally through departmental resources, and externally, through large scale grantee surveys;
  • Organizing workshops for social welfare or RED grantees:
  • Conducting such tasks as the RED Project Manager deems proper and appropriate to further the efficacy of programs
  • Developing feedback loops in order to engage stakeholders as necessary and proactively communicate project status;
  • Managing data gathering and perform analysis with a view toward increased efficacy and targeted strategy for SW or RED programs including liaising with Legal and Communications as necessary;
  • Assisting with preparation of presentations for the Board of Directors;
  • Consulting with content experts, as necessary, including for background, research, knowledge and logistics;
  • When project comes to fruition, serving as coordinator with next responsible colleague;
  • Other assignments as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years of relevant experience;
  • Advanced knowledge of Claims Conference programs and organizational structure may be used in place of experience;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office;
  • Able to work with others and as part of a team, problem solve, manage diverse projects simultaneously, manage changing deadlines and communicate effectively with top management and staff.

Claims Conference offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our target salary range for the Project Manager – RED/SW in the New York City market is $95,000-$105,000. This salary range represents Claims Conference’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
