Database Coordinator

The Claims Conference is looking for a Database Coordinator to join our Allocations Department. This individual will manage our client level reporting database known as Diamond. The ideal candidate is analytical, takes ownership of their work, and is a strong collaborator. The skills that will enable your success are advanced technical skills, database management, and productive multitasking.

Note: this is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days in the office.

The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), a nonprofit organization with offices in New York, Israel, Germany and Austria, secures material compensation for Holocaust survivors around the world. Founded in 1951 by representatives of 23 major international Jewish organizations, the Claims Conference negotiates for and disburses funds to individual survivors and organizations and seeks the return of Jewish property stolen during the Holocaust. As a result of negotiations with the Claims Conference since 1952, the German government has paid more than $95 billion in indemnification to individuals for suffering and losses resulting from persecution by the Nazis. For 2025, the Claims Conference will distribute approximately $530 million in compensation for survivors globally and $960 million for survivors’ welfare needs such as home care, medicine and food.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as system administrator of Diamond;
  • Performing quality checks and testing of new versions of Diamond;
  • Supporting staff and agency users with use of Diamond;
  • Investigating production issues reported by internal and external users of Diamond;
  • Documenting meeting results, user requirements, action items, project activities, etc;
  • Review client lists for potential duplicates needing Master ID assignment in Diamond and creating the upload file containing all CC IDs and Master IDs;
  • Preparing reports and materials for analysis, documentation, and planning of future allocations using data from Diamond, Fluxx and any other available data source;
  • Analyzing enhancement requests and determine priority;
  • Creating ad-hoc reports;
  • Additional tasks assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Detail oriented, methodical, and able to meet deadlines;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite;
  • Advanced skills in Excel;
  • Strong Communication skills.

Claims Conference offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our target salary range for the Database Coordinator in the New York City market is $68,000-$75,000. This salary range represents Claims Conference’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
